Hometown favorite, Adam Church, returns to the AppTheatre stage. An Appalachian native, Adam has pursued his music career for about 10 years. He grew up in Foscoe, NC, where he found a love for music by listening to the likes of Eric Church. Many may have heard about Adam through his connection with major country music star, Luke Combs. They both attended Appalachian State University, where they met, and Luke asked Adam to join his first band. Between his college studies and his job at K-Mart, Adam played shows in local bars in Boone and beyond to get the music ball rolling.

Opening the evening are Boone locals, Pressley Laton Band.

Her country and rock-influenced vocals will punch right through you like Starr Larkin’s paddle…a wooden school paddle that Pressley Laton’s principal named “Ol’ George,” that is. With at least 3 chords and the half-truth, like those found in her debut single, "Ol' George," the Stanly County, NC native’s small-town stories inspire her songwriting. Stories such as crossing paths with a local “Mountain Man” before graduating from Appalachian State University or breaking the news to her dad that she wasn’t coming back home because of it.

Laton ventured onto the local music scene in early 2023. Performances include opening for Tyler Nail at Wilkesboro’s Key City Sessions, at High Country Beer Fest, and at Statesville’s Roots in the Round Singers & Songbirds Songwriter Festival. The latter warranted a gracious review, “Pressley's music seamlessly blends creativity and depth while her lyrics balance wit with seriousness, revealing a nuanced perspective beyond her years.” She and bandmates, Daniel Ames, Austin Summers, and Ray Edmonds are eager for the release of the forthcoming EP, "Didn’t Stand a Chance", recorded at Sioux Sioux Studio with Charlotte, NC-based producer, Jason Scavone. The result is the not-so-mainstream perspective you’ve been craving.
