Appalachian Theatre History

Documentarian Philip Arnold, who resides in Ohio but has deep roots in Boone and Watauga County, worked with the Appalachian Theatre for several years to create a documentary that premiered at the renovated Appalachian Theatre on November 14, 2019, the theatre’s 81st birthday. The film incorporates excerpts from dozens of hours of oral history interviews conducted by the Archives and History Committee of the ATHC, in addition to archival images and footage.
