Appalachian Theatre is located at 559 West King Street in the heart of Downtown Boone, North Carolina.
Our administrative offices are located adjacent to the theatre on the second floor of 555 West King Street.

Directions

  • Follow US 421 North to Boone, NC, joining West King Street as you enter Downtown Boone. The Appalachian Theatre is just west of the traffic light at Appalachian Street and West King Street and located on your left.

  • Follow either US 321 or US 421 South to their junction in Vilas, NC, then follow this route east into Downtown Boone. The Appalachian Theatre is just east of the traffic light at Depot Street and West King Street and located on your right.

  • Follow US 321 North or US 221 North to Blowing Rock, NC, then head north on US 321 toward Boone. At the large intersection of US 321 and US 421 (coming in from your right), turn left onto US 321/US 421/West King Street. Follow West King Street to the west approximately 0.4 miles. The Appalachian Theatre is just west of the traffic light at Appalachian Street and West King Street and located on your left.

  • There really isn't a good way directly into Boone from the north because there's a giant mountain in the way! We recommend that you find your way to either US 321 or US 421, then follow the directions above, depending on whether you are approaching Boone from the west or the east. The interactive map at the top of the page may be helpful.


Parking Options

Please read the following parking information to prepare for your visit to the Appalachian Theatre.

ATHC does not own or operate any parking lots or meters and is not liable for parking mishaps or fees.

Metered parking is available along the streets of Boone. Kiosk pay parking is available in the following lots: King Street parking lot just west of the theatre; Depot Street parking lot (two blocks northwest of the theatre); along Queen Street between Depot and Water Streets (three to four blocks northwest of the theatre). There is a two-hour limit at street meters and an eight-hour limit in Town pay lots and along Queen Street.

Meters are enforced Monday through Saturday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., except on Town-recognized holidays. Parking in these spaces is free all day on Sundays and every day after 5 p.m.

Avoid parking in private/reserved lots or unauthorized parking spaces. Private property owners tow and/or boot. For more information on public parking, please visit the DBDA Website.
